FAMILY!!!  I hope that you all had a great week!  Holy cow I was super nervous for Brasil!  Julio Cesar put the team on his back tho.  Great keeper!  The US plays tomorrow. Cant wait!!!

This week was a good one!  We have been finding new people to teach.  We do a lot of contacts in front of the new chapel.  It should open up here in about two weeks which will be great.  It is a lot closer to our house.  Yesterday we were stoppin cars, bikes and people and talking to them about the church! hahah it was a great time.

The mission president changed this week.  We will meet the new president on Wednesday cuz that is when we are going to Floripa.

Marcos and Mara are doing great still.

Short email this week, but I love you all!  I hope that you have a great week!!!

FAMILY!!!  How are you all doin??  USA got a great win against Ghana but I cant believe the score from yesterday!!  I cant believe that they gave them 5 minutes of stoppage time.  But oh well, we will still pass the group!  Brasil plays today so things will get crazy!!

Things are going really good here!  We visited Sebastião and Sonia.  They are super happy from their decision to get married.  They came to church on Sunday and had a great time.  We taught them about the word of wisdom and they have no problem with it.  We will plan sebastião's baptism for here in about two weeks.

Castro went to the hospital with swollen tonsils.  I stayed with Marcos our investigator for almost 3 hours talking about tons of things.  He is a great guy!  He is just waiting for the temple to get dedicated for him to get baptized.  We taught him and Mara this week about ordinances and our works.  They enjoyed it a lot.  Marcos always has tons of questions so it keeps it interesting.

Also, last week we made a contact with this lady named Vera.  We decided to go back and visit her and her family on saturday.  She lives with her son Leonardo and her daughter Naiara.  We taught them the first lesson and the spirit was incredibly strong.  Naiara was in tears as we talked about the first vision.  They loved the message and accepted the invite to be baptized.  We will go visit them again this week.

I love you all!!  Stay strong and have a great week!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUST!!!  I love you bro!!

FAMILY!!!  I hope that you are all doing great and had a chance to watch some of the world cup games!!  hahahah we had a blast watching the Brasil game at Bishops house.  Brasil didnt deserve that penalty and Croatia played their hearts out, but it was cool seeing Brasil get the win and everyone go crazy!! hahah.

So Sebastião and Sonia got married this week!  It was a great wedding.  They did it out on their ranch with just a few friends.  It was great!  We will go back and visit them this week and try to mark Sebastião's baptism for next saturday along with his son Antonio.

Marcos and Mara are doing really well.  Marcos is full of questions and loves learning more about the church.  We are still waiting for the new chapel to get finished and dedicated for him to get baptized.

We are visiting William and Lucilany still.  They are a great couple expecting a baby here in about a month.  I told them to name it Howard, but that didnt fly ;) hahah.  We are going to a Cookies family night with them this week and we will talk to them about their wedding as well.  We want to start getting all their paperwork ready cuz it takes a little while.

I love you all and hope that you have a great week!!  USA plays tonight, be sure to cheer loud for me ;)  Brasil plays tomorrow!!  It is so dope being in the country of the cup!  We are making the most of it!

FAMILY!!!  This week was a great one!  No more trips to the hospital :) hahah.  We went to Floripa and had our last meeting with President.  This week we have our last mission conference with him on Friday.  He is leaving the mission on the 27th of this month.  Also, THE WORLD CUP STARTS THIS WEEK and things are getting crazy here!!  We already have a BBQ planned at the bishops house to watch the game.  It will be fantastic!!!

We visited Lucilany and William this week.  They invited his mom and sister to hear our message as well.  It went really good and they are great people,. they just have a hard time getting up for church.  It rained nonstop from Friday until Sunday and so it was hard for a bunch of people to go to church.

We visited this family named Antonio, Cleici and Bianca.  They are super Baptist but let us in to hear our message. They listened as we used mainly their bible to teach the first lesson.  We left a BOM there and they said they will read it and pray to know if Joseph is a prophet.  They are great people!!

Marcos and Mara are doing great!  Marcos still only wants to be baptized when the new chapel is dedicated (hopefully by the end of the month) but they are going to church every week.  Everyone thinks they are members already! haha

I love you all!!!  Have a great week.  Remember the incredible love that God and Christ have for us.  We will never understand in this life the infinite love they have for us.  Also, we have no idea how much God truly wants us to return to him.  He loves us.  And I love you all.

FAMILY!!!  I love you all so much and hope that you had a great week!  This week was really good here.  On Tuesday I got sick with the runs... hahah aI think it was something that I ate.  But there is this dope member named Maiko (speaks fluent english) that made me a soup and it helped a ton!  The rest of the week I was back to 100%.

Things are getting dope here with the world cup preparations.  We got the transfers this week.  I am staying with my bro Elder Castro for one more transfer and we will live with the same two elders as well.  We have a great time together!

This week I got to visit three families that I visited when I served here before.  Here are the stories:

So yesterday we went with Maiko to visit Peter and Rafaela.  I dono if you guys remember them, but it is a couple that I taught over a year ago that almost got married.  Peter is already a member, but Rafaela almost got baptized when I was here.  Well we got to visit them again and it was great!  When we were about to leave Rafaela said "Lets get me baptized before Elder Howard leaves."  That was great to hear!  They are getting married this next month and after, she plans on getting baptized.  I hope it all goes well.

I did a division with Elder Lopes in Itajai 1 and we visited Lilian who got baptized when me and Elder Hunt were here.  She is going through some hard times and we were able to leave a message talking about the Atonement using Alma 7:11-12.  It was great and I was so happy to be able to help her again.

That night we had a family pizza night with Adriana and Leonardo who got baptized when I was here as well.  That was fantastic!  They are doing great!  Leonardo is 14 and prepares the sacrament every week.  It is great to see their progress.

Well I miss you all but I am loving it back here in Itajai.  They people are so loving and we have some gret investigators (William e Lucilany, Marcos e Mara, Ricardo, Lucas e Natasha, Vera).  I cant wait for the CUP!!!  Love you all!

FAMILY!!!  I love you all so much!  I hope that you are all doing great!  I cant believe that Mothers Day came and went so fast! haha it was great talking to you all tho.

This week was a super busy one, but a great one.  We went to Floripa on Sunday until Tuesday for a meeting with President and the other zone leaders.  On Monday we went on a spiritual hike, which was so dope!!  I think we need to go there when you guys come!  At the end of a hike was a beautiful beach that you can only get to by boat or hiking.  We ran around on the beach and played games.  It was an absolute blast!

On Wednesday, President came to Itajai to renew my temple recommend.  We did the interview and then he went with us to find a new apartment, cuz we live in 4 missionaries in a tiny apartment right now.  We found two options, and we will probably move next week.  He then took us to see the new chapel here in Itajai that will be opened next month for our ward and then we got Caldo de Cana which is a sugar cane juice.  It is fantastic!

We are working with Lucas and Natasha to help them get married.  Eddy is helping us get all of there documents ready.  We gave them a picture of the Porto Alegre temple and they loved it.  Marcos and Mara are doing great, he still wants to be baptized in the new chapel so that will be next month sometime.

We visited Ricardo and watched the Joseph Smith movie with him.  That was a great time!  He went to church and loved it as well.  We are gonna get on him about the baptism now.  He is ready for it!

I love you all!  Bad news, My camera got stolen...  It had my two memory cards and one pendrive in it.  Good News: I have almost all of my photos and videos on a members computer in Joaçaba so I will send a jumpdrive for him to put everything on.  And also, I sent most of my photos to you guys.  It just sucks being without a camera! haha

Love you all and have a great week!!!

FAMILY!!!  This week was another great one!  Holy cow I am exhausted, but I am loving Itajai and I am loving serving with Elder Castro! He is a great kid!!

This week we did lots of contacts and we were able to teach tons of people.  Vera is doing great!  We went to her house and took her a picture of the Porto Alegre temple in a picture frame and gave it to her.  Then we helped her make some goals so that one day she can have an eternal family.  It was so great!  She absolutely loved it!  She went to church this sunday as well and loved it.

We had a couple of family home evenings this week as well.  There is a family where the kids are members, but the parents arent.  (I cant remember all the names cuz I am terrible with names! haha).  We left a great message there and they came to church on sunday.  The parents just need to get married and they will both be baptized.  We will go back this week and see what they are wanting to do.

We are teaching a couple named Marcos and Mara.  Marcos doesnt want to be baptized until the new chapel is finished.  Right now, we are going to the same chapel as Itajai 1, but the new chapel closer to our area should be done at the end of this month.  They are both great people and both went to church.  Everyone already thinks they are members! hahah

Ricardo went to church as well.  Heavenly Father blessed us as we were able to teach him, his wife and their two kids all together for the first time.  It was so great!  Ricardo went to church and seemed a lot happier!

We are teaching another couple named Lucas and Natasha.  They need to get married, but have a desire to get married and to get baptized.  They are reading the BOM and Lucas came to church yesterday.

I love you all and hope that you have a great week!!!  BE HAPPY, God loves you all.

FAMILY!!!  How are you all doin??  Holy cow it is so good to be back in Itajai and my comp Elder Castro is such a dope kid!  It is good to be back with him as well.

I am loving the work here.  Being a missionary is being like a psychologist most the time cuz people tell you their difficulties and you help them according to their needs.  It is preparing me a lot for my future proffession :)

We have some great investigators right now.  We are teaching this lady named Vera.  Her family lives in another state and are members of the church but she never was baptized.  She went to stake conference this week and loved it.  She went to the family session on Saturday and the normal session on sunday.  Tonight we are going to do a family night with her at a members house.  She said that she wants to put into practice goals to be more disciplined and to improve.

We are teaching this guy named Ricardo.  He is about 35 years old and has a big desire to be a part of the church.  We taught him the commandments and he got rid of Coffee to be able to be baptized.  We marked his baptism for saturday.  He went to conference yesterday as well and had enjoyed it.  We will visit him tomorrow.

In the stake priesthood session, stake pres asked us to give a training to all the bishops and ward mission leaders from the stake! hahah how funny is that?  So we prepared a powerpoint and talked about their responsabilities in helping in the mission work.  It went really well!  Lots of people afterwards told us that it was great.

I have seen tons of people that I met here over a year ago.  I was welcomed and received so well by the people here.  It is great to be back!

I love you all so much and hope that you have a great week!!!

FAMILY!!!!  I miss you guys like crazy and hope that you are all doing great!  Congrats Bingham on another win!!  Conference was great!  I am excited for the Liahona to come out with all of the talks.  There were some great ones!!  I hit one year and 7 months this week.... CRAZY STUFF!!!

This week we went into another radio station.  The guy gave each of us a mic and he started talking to Alex about the project that we will be doing.  Then he started interviewing me and Elder Pereira! haha he talked to us more about missionary work, than he did about the project! haha he asked us about our purpose and talked really highly of the missionaries.  He then said we could go to his house at any time and on air, said his address. hahah it was pretty funny!  We had a great time and it was a great experience!

We went on a division this week with Elder Maia and Elder Paiva.  I spent all day with Paiva, he is from Argentina.  I practiced my Spanish a little bit as well ;)

This week we will be doing a division with the assistents to the president for two days.  Friday will be the first night of the "Projeto Familia Feliz".  I attached a poster of the project for you all to see.  We think there will be lots of people there and lots of references for the missionaries.  We are hoping it all goes well!

I love you all and hope that you have a fantastic week.  BE HAPPY and KNOW THAT GOD LOVES YOU ALL!

FAMILY!!!  How are you all doin??  I got way excited to see that you guys bought the tickets to come to Brasil!  We will have a blast!!!  This week was a good one.  I didnt something today for the first time on my mission.  We are working on a project with Alex to help out all the families here in Lages.  It is a project to get a happier family with three nights of trainings.  Today we went to 4 radio stations and talked about the project! hahah I got to talk on one of them!  I was so nervous but it went great!  Attached has a photo, you guys will like it! hahah

This week we made a bunch of invites for General Conference and went to the center of Lages to pass them out.  We talked to a ton of people there.  I am so stoked for conference!!  You all better watch it ;)

We did a division in Curitibanos.  It was a great time.  I spent the whole day with Elder Naugle who was my comp in the CTM! hahah how crazy is that??  It was a great time.  We visited some awesome families and had a blast.  It is cool to go back and visit areas that I have already served in.

We are still trying to find people to teach.  Its the toughest thing.  We found a bunch of less actives tho so that was really good.  Also this new project with Alex will bring in tons of references.  It will be dope!

I love you all and hope that you have a great week.  Congrats Aust for the wins and go out and beat Copper Hills and Brighton!!  LOVE YOU ALL!!

FAMILY!!!  This week was a great one but was super busy.  One of the most tiring weeks on my mission! haha.  We spent this week helping a lot of missionaries in our zone.  On wednesday we took a van with 14 missionaries on a 3 hour drive to Criciuma for a conference with President.  It was a great trip and the conference was great even tho we were dead from leaving home at 4 in the morning! haha.  I uploaded photos for you all to see.

We are also starting a project here with Alex.  He is a psychologist and has a great idea.  Starting next week, there will be three nights of talks given centered around the family.  We are going to print out 10,000 invites and pass them out to everyone.  It should work out great!

I went to Floripa this week as well on a division.  Elder Maia had a doctors appointment there.  I love Floripa!  You guys will absolutely love it there.

Super hectic week, this week will be more normal.  I love you all and hope that you have a fantastic week!!!  Aust, keep killin it out on the field and good luck against ALTA.  Kick their butt for me :)

FAMILY!!!  How are you all doin??  I loved the pics from Austins dance.  Him and his date looked fantastic together!!  Such a little stud!  Things here are going good.  I am absolutely exhausted, but I have been for a year and 6 months now! haha.  My new comp got here.  He is from Rio de Janeiro and his name is Elder Pereira.  He speaks fantastic english so we have a good time together.

This week we went to Floripa and had a meeting with president and the other zone leaders.  It was a blast and we heard a great message about the armor of god.  I liked it a lot!  This week we have another conference with pres and about 30 missionaries.  It will be in Criciuma, about 4 hours from Lages.  So dope!  We will take a van with all the missionaries.

We met tons of people this week and are trying to find new people to teach.  Brother Geovane went out with us all day saturday and took us to three different houses.  We were able to teach 3 families and it went great!  We were so grateful for his help.

Lots of appointments falling through, people not liking commitments, but it is all a part of the work! haha.  We willl do some contacts this week to find people who want to hear about the gospel.

I love you all and hope you have a great week!!  Austin, keep killin it on the field.  Beat Murray tomorrow and throw it in Andrews face for me ;) haha.  Love you all!

FAMILY!!!!  Sounds like you all had a great and busy week!!  My week was a great one too.  Good experiences and a little bit of travelling.

This week, we did a division in Curitibanos.  I went all day with Elder Rodrigues who is from Brasilia.  It was a great day!  It was good going back to Curitibanos again.  I saw a bunch of people I met there almost a year ago.  It was a good experience!  We also did three more baptism interviews for them.  They are doing great there!

We did a division here in Lages with the elders here, and I spent all day with an argentinan named Elder Paiva.  We visited Zenita and Adrianna who went to churfch last week and it was a great experience!  They both prayed and recieved an answer that our message was true.  They told us how much they were blessed this last week in everything.  We taught them about the BOM and left it for them to read and pray about.  We will be headin back tomorrow.

We did a family night with Tereza and a less active named Kaue.  we taught about the atonement and about forgiveness.  The spirit was way strong and it was a great family night!  We still didnt get Kaue to church.  He is a great guy, we just need to get him to come to church on sundays!

I love you all and hope that you have a great week!!!

FAMILY!!!!  This week was a really good one with some great experiences and was topped off with a great sacrament meeting yesterday!  I gave a talk about us being children of a loving heavenly father.  Then Maldonado talked about the restoration of the gospel.  When he started talking about the first vision, I hopped on the piano and played quietly "Oh how lovely was the morning".  The spirit filled the room.  People crying and fillin that good old spirit!  DOPE experience!

We taught this cool family.  Antonio, Zenita, their daughter Adrianna and her daughter Carol.  We taught them the first lesson and tears filled Zenitas eyes as the spirit was strong.  We invited them to come to church and they all came except for Antonio.  We are going to go back this week and visit them.  If they recieve an answer that the church is true, they accepted baptism.

Maiara's friend Andreca went t church again this week, her second time.  We visited her on saturday, taught the first lesson and gave her a BOM.  She is the first counselors niece and is liking the church a lot.  We will go back this week and try to mark her baptism for next saturday.

Tereza is doing great.  She is helping the relief society a ton and is keeping the church clean.  Her son Alex is the missions pschologist and is awesome.  They help us so much, always feed us and always call us to make sure we are doing good.  You guys will love to meet them!

I love you all and hope that you have a great week!!!  Have a great time in Grand Canyon and take lots of pictures!!

FAMILY!!!  This week was a great one!  We worked a ton and had some great experiences!  We went to Floripa on Monday and Tuesday for a meeting with president!  It went really well and was good to see some of the other missionaries!  Also, I talked to President about my date going home.  He said he would check on it for me.  I just checked his email and he said that the system will allow me to go home August 6th!!!  So looks like everything worked out in the end :)

We are teaching this girl named Ketney, her sister Larissa and Larissa's boyfriend Jadeil.  They are all super cool.  Ketney said that she feels like she has recieved an answer, but didnt come to church on Sunday.  However, Larissa and Jadeil both came to church and I think that they enjoyed it!  We will return to visit them this week.

On saturday we visited a member reference.  The mom is named Tanha, and her two daughters Maria and Jessica.  We got there and tanha is going through some difficulties because her son has been in jail for 4 months now.  She is having a rough time with it.  We taught them about Joseph and the Restoration of the gospel and they loved it.  The spirit was so strong during the whole lesson.  At the end, we invited them to pray about the message, and when they recieve an answer, to be baptized.  They accepted the invite with ease.  The crappy part is that they didnt go to church.  I am not sure what happend, but we will go visit them again this week.

We visited Cassiano and taught him the first lesson.  He is a good kid and has tons of questions which is great for a missionary.  He accepted to read the BOM, pray about it, and when he recieves an answer, to be baptized.  He didnt come to church either which was weird.  We will see what happened.  It is tought bringing people to church, even after having great lessons with them.

I love you all and hope that you have a great week!!!

FAMILY!!!  How are you all doin??  I miss you all like crazy!!!  This week was a good one and a busy one.  Tereza is doing great and has truly changed so much.  She takes us to visit less active members and investigators.  She is great!  On sunday, her son Alex who is the second counselor in the bishopric, bore his testimony.  At the end he said he was so grateful that his mom was back in the church.  He then said that he wished that me and Maldonado could stay in Lages forever as missionaries! haha it was good to hear that.

We started our English class and it went well! haha there were only 4 people that came, but it was still a lot of fun!  Three members came and also a non member named Cassiano.  We taught him about the BOM and he came to church yesterday!  That was pretty cool.  He had tons of questions in the gospel principles class and we will go back to visit him this week.

We are also working with more less actives and investigators.  We are going to try to find new people to teach this week.  That will be our goal!  Tonight we are headin to Floripa again for the meeting with the Zone Leaders and Pres.  It should be good!

I love you all and hope that you have a great week!!!

FAMILY!!!!  How are you all doin??  I sure do miss you guys like crazy!!!  This week was the transfer and me and MaldonadBRO will be staying one more transfer together.  It should be a good one!

This week was a good one!  Tereza is doing great!  She made us lunch today! haha.  But yesterday at church, Bianca which is Tereza's granddaughter, gave a talk.  At the end she started crying about how happy she was that her grandma was finally at church with her and back firm in the church.  She looked at me and at Maldonado and thanked us for everything that we did to get her back to the church.  It was a dope experience!  I started crying a little and the chills overtook me! haha.  It was such an awesome thing to hear, and I was so happy to know that we made an impact on their lives.

Maiara went on a division with the Sisters here in Lages to see how the mission life is.  She loved it and had a great experience!  She talks about how she is planning on serving a mission here in a little.

We went to Curitibanos again this week to do a baptismal interview.  We had lunch with Ari (reminds me of grandpa) and his wife Zeli.  Seli has been inactive for about 16 years now.  We left her a message and it was a very spiritual experience.  They are great people and we will help them everytime we go there.

I love you all and hope you have a great week!!!  Keep workin hard on Austins scholarship papers :):):)  LOVE YOU ALL!!!

FAMILY!!!  This week was a good one!!  How is MLK day for you guys?? hahah I totally forgot about the holiday!

Maiara is doing great!  We had a family nhight with her and her family this week.  We ate pizza and gave a message.  We are trying to get her family to read the BOM and pray about it.  We will see how that goes.  Also, Maiara is going on a division with the sisters here in Lages on Saturday.  She talks about how she wants to serve a mission here in two years, so we told he she could go see what it is like.  We are stoked for her!

Tereza wasnt able to go to church, but she is doing good.  We are going to help her put some goals to stop smoking.  That is the only thing holding her back from going to the temple.  She is a great lady!

We are teaching this less active called Kauê.  Dope guy!  We taught him the story of Peter walking on the waters with Christ and how Kauê needs to show his faith and go back to church.  He didnt come this week, but accepted our invitation to read and pray every single day.  We will follow up on that this week.

We are trying to find new people to teach.  This is the last week of the transfer and we are calling it the "Semana de Fé!" ("Week of faith").  hahah we are hoping for a good week!!  I love you all and hope you have a great week!!

FAMILY!!!  How are you all doin??  Sounds like you guys had a great week other than Austin being sick!!  I hope he got feeling better!  This week was good for me.  We went to Floripa on Monday and Tuesday, for a conference with the zone leaders and President.  It was actually really good!  There are tons of cool Zone LEaders so we had a good time!

Also, we traveled to Curitibanos for two days to do a division.  Lots of traveling this week! haha.  It was way cool going back to Curitibanos tho.  I saw tons of members that I met while I was there and we were stoked to see eachtoher! haha.  It was a blast.  We also went back and visited some of my old investigators there, but they still dont want to accept the gospel.

Maiara is doing great.  She is always invited friends and family to church.  Recent Converts seriously are the best member missionaries out there.  We started teaching her friend named Eliane, and it was great cuz she is going through some hard times.  We taught her about the Atonement and gave her a BOM to read.  WE will visit her again this week.

Tereza went to church again!!!  Three weeks in a row after almost 30 years of being inactive.  It truly is a miracle.  She is a great lady.  We had lunch with her today.  Also, she has almost stopped smoking completely, so we will keep helping her with that.

Well I love you all and hope you have a great week!!!  The church is true. Joseph Saw :)
